12.11.2021 The Heating Hub at Queens Quay
The final stop of our tour was Glasgow. After participating in the CASC forum on energy efficiency at Blair estate and speaking at the launch of the Clean heat forum in the blue zone on 11.11.2021, we met in Clydebank at the Queens Quay heat pump installation. 2x 2.6MW heating capacity are provided by using the energy stored in the river clyde.
The project was commissioned by Westbartonshire Council and executed by Star renewables. The hybrid solution consists of 2 heat pumps and a gas burner, providing renewable energy and flexibility to the end users connected to the district heating grid.
The location is stunning, as is the building that hosts the energy center. It will also be used for educational purposes in the future.
