The opening of the Sustainable home centre in “Newport-on-Tay
Combining a tour through the beautiful Scottish countryside with the last visit of my tour lead me to Dundee, in fact to Newport-on-Tay, a village opposite of Dundee.
Here, I met Richard & Jenny, the owners of a new, to be opened Sustainable Home Centre. It was the concept that grasped my interest. Richard is in the renewable energy industry for all his life, but he realized that attracting clients only via a technology description was difficult and it was much more a wholistic communication exercise with potential clients.
Richard has been operating the natural energy company for years now and decided to give it a new home that served that purpose. The new location provides information about heat pumps, battery and thermal storage as well as electric vehicles. It was a pleasure to open the first “Sustainable home centre” in Scotland and I hope many more will follow. This approach will bring renewable energy technologies closer to the end users, will answer their questions and make the technology tangible.
