Dimplex innovation center, London
When visiting the innovation center in London, we were meeting an old colleague, Michael Betz, Technical Director and Sara Hopkinson, Marketing Operations Manager for Glen Dimplex Heating & Ventilation. We discussed the Zeroth technology, which essentially aims at replacing a central heating system in a highrise with a heat pump solution that builds on a low temperature loop to avoid losses from the heat distribution system and combines this with a heat pump per apartment. This appartment heat pump is providing heating, cooling and hot water and is delivered prefabricated on-site. With this solution, Dimplex has answered to the needs of major players in the construction industry and is currently rolling out the product to market. The icing on the cake: if cooling is needed in summer, the waste heat from that process is used to heat the sanitary hot water.
