Withit the Sero housing project out of Cardiff.
On the 11.11.21 I finally arrived at the COP26. EHPA is a registered observer to the process, which gave me access to the blue zone. Apart from the negotiation area, this zone looks similar to a huge industry exhibition. Associations, NGOs, companies and countries have their own pavilions, sometimes even two stories high. This is a huge networking space to present and discuss the different technical solutions available to limit global warming. As to be expected, there is no unanimous opinion on what is best and hence, one finds solutions in line with ones own opinion and those completely opposite.
What it shows, though, is that we have many more solutions available than typically thought and that underlines a statement I have been making many times: “We have all the solutions to completely convert the energy sector away from fossil energy – mostly using renewable energy, storage and energy grids. What it needs is policy innovation that creates a framework in which the most environmentally friendly solutions are economically most attractive!”
