After arriving in Glasgow, I met Dave Pearson. We had planned the “heating hub” in the facilities of the Queens Quay district heating. On the way to the location, we took a short detour to Moscow, a small village south of Glasgow. There we met Russel Gibb, experienced design consultant and installer of heat pumps ( planetheat ).
14 years ago, he has installed a heat pump in the house of Alexander ‘Sandy’ Caldwell. Back then a whisky distillery maintenance engineer.
Sandy opened his garage for us, and we learned from first-hand experience that heat pumps were ready to operate successfully in existing buildings – if properly designed and installed. This was confirmed by Sandy who has been a happy owner ever since installation.
